Or maybe the worst, whatever I’m sharing anyway.
I believe Missy is a clockwork robot just like Mr. Half Face Robot. Only she’s a far more advanced version, who has been harvesting pieces from many different species and computers for a veeerrrrrry long time. I believe a huge portion of her robot brain used to belong to non other than that hottie French chick Madame De Pompadour (aka Reinette) who, as we all know, had a romance with the Doctor (Ten).
Think about it, first we have Mr. Half Face:
Besides needing some cyborg Prozac, he also needs human organs to function, as does his ship. And he’s the most creepy kind of robot ever- the clockwork type. Sound familiar? The Doctor thought it did, but he was still confused from his regeneration. Us Whovians however didn’t regenerate and we have the internet, so we remembered. We first saw the clockwork robots in The Girl in the Fireplace during Ten’s run:

Seriously, though…same type of robots, needing human organs to survive and power their ship. Or, more specifically they needed Reinette’s BRAIN and later we learned the name of their ship was “The Madame de Pompadour”….And if you were paying attention (or rewinded it later) you’ll see that ship was referenced in”Deep Breath” as the sister ship to Mr. Half Face’s ship which was named “The S.S. Marie Antionette”.
So, you’re wondering how that means Missy is carrying around Madame de Pompadour aka Reinette’s brain? Well, the Doctor never actually sees Reinette die. True, her death is a supposedly fixed point in history, but that doesn’t mean her brain wasn’t harvested by the creepy clockers afterwards. (Or perhaps they had something to do with her death?) This also explains why Missy thinks of the Doctor as her “boyfriend”. AND ( I just thought of this) since she’s the same type of robot as Half Face maybe she could see through his eyes, and that’s why she asked if he was pushed or not. She was watching the whole thing go down from that creepy little “promise land” place….
So, to clarify: Missy is an advanced version of the Clockwork robots, who is using Madame de Pompadour aka Reinette’s brain, and has most likely acquired a bunch of other badass attributes and powers from harvesting other humans & cyborgs & super computers over the years.
